Researchers that have been selected in step 1 to continue with step 2 of the postdoctoral grant process, should supplement their application with the following:
- Additional copies of the thesis (the requested number will be communicated by FAS)
- If applicable, other publications (the same quantity)
- A certificate from the prefect or equivalent at the institution where the research will take place (the “home institution”) that you are welcome to carry out the intended research there (the same quantity)
- A list of the various documents that will supplement the application (the same quantity)
All additions to the application should be marked with the reference number of your application. FAS will send out a confirmation upon receipt of all supplementary documents. The ensuing process is dependent on the arrival of the necessary documents in time.
Purpose
The purpose of postdoctoral grants is to give younger, recently graduated researchers active in FAS’ areas of responsibility the possibility to continue their research career in close connection to obtaining their Ph.D.s. A postdoctoral grant amounts to SEK680,000 per year for two years. The grant includes indirect costs; it is administered by a Swedish university or equivalent.
Process
Postdoctoral grants are applied for in open competition. The selection is primarily based on the research merits of the applicant (mainly the dissertation) but also on the applicant’s research plan. Each application is assigned to a specific research secretary.
