The abstract should be able to stand on its own, which is why you should make no references to other parts of the application. The purpose of the abstract is to inform FAS’ evaluators and decision makers about the project. It is also important that laymen can understand the abstract.
The abstract may not exceed 2,000 characters including spaces.
Projektbeskrivning (Project description)
The appendix should be written using the eKlara appendix template Projektbeskrivning (available in Swedish as well as in English). Please follow the instructions available in Handledning för eKlara (eKlara guidelines) about how to handle the appendix templates etc.
The project description may extend to a maximum of ten A4 pages. It should include:

- Place the research area in relation to earlier research.

- Account for your current plans to publish scientifically and how you plan to spread information about the research and its results outside the research community.
Please also include the estimated costs per year for your activities, divided into salary costs, research costs (according to the flat rate indicated below) and overhead and rental surcharges. The totals should be entered in the application form under Applied for from FAS.
Calculations of salary costs should be based on salary requests including social fees. Also include the monthly salary for year one and the percentage of social fees that is applied by the proposed employer.
FAS grants a flat rate of SEK25,000 for research costs. In cases where research costs surpass this amount, this should be specified and justified.
If the institution is covered by the agreement between FAS and SUHF – for further information go to eKlara/Söka medel (apply for grants) – the maximum rate for administration and office rental costs is 35 percent. For projects at institutions where rental costs are covered by the county council, this rate is 18 percent. Other research institutions receive a flat rate of 30 percent. It is the responsibility of the applicants to find out the applicable rate.
Meritförteckning (CV)
The appendix should be written using the eKlara appendix template Meritförteckningar (CVs). Please follow the instructions available in Handledning för eKlara (eKlara guidelines) about how to handle the appendix templates etc.
The CV should include information about education, employment, as well as scientific and teaching experience (if you have participated in research projects or received external research funding under your own name, please fill in the project title, the funding agency, the amount and year), and a list of research publications. Publications that are enclosed with the application should be marked in the list.
